On the trail of Giuseppe Calì |
The eleventh edition of Festival Mediterranea is on again this Saturday (10 November) with an onsite lecture will focus on the art of Malta's greatest artist at the turn of the 20th century, through a selection of works in the churches of Gozo. The lecture will discuss the nature of Calì's art and the influences which formed his artistic style, while placing him within the local and international artistic scenario. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with Calì 's works on-site. Artist and Ph.D. candidate Mark Sagona has been lecturing on Giuseppe Calì and his artistic output for the last eight years in the Department of History of Art at the University of Malta and is the author of several studies on the artist.
